Wealth Building By Getting the Land

The following scriptural information reveals the value of LAND when considering your level of wealth.  God made the land for human beings.  The land is our natural, physical connection to His blessing and provision manifested in our lives.  He is not making any more land.  We need to see the value of obtaining the land.  It will be a blessing to us, our children, and our grandchildren.

Wealth Building by the Tithe & First Fruits

Malachi 3 is the major scripture used in presenting the tithe as a primary force in our giving process. The tithe is the AMOUNT designed by God as the floor of our giving process, not the ceiling. The tithe is foundational. The AMOUNT is 10% of everything that comes into our hands. The tithe is the starting point of our giving process. According to Malachi 1 it is connected to our faith in God’s love, and the way by which we show our honor and respect for Him.

It is always interesting to hear tithers confess that they are blessed richly and abundantly. Then we hear the non-tithers confess that they cannot afford to tithe.

A major place where the first fruits are presented is in Proverbs 3:9,10.
9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.

In our generation we often see TV preachers raising “first fruits” offerings in January of each year. This is an attempt to gain some good income to start the new year. We need to be careful that we are not being manipulated into giving through an emotional appeal. If the Lord is leading you to participate, go ahead. Otherwise, you may be responding to manipulation. And, if you are being directed to give a first fruits offering, why not give it to your own local church?

Where the tithe is the AMOUNT called for in scripture (10%), the first fruits are the NATURE of what is being called for (first). The first amount that leaves your hand is the first fruits. This action involves our HONOR for God.

My wife and I receive our regular income twice a month. Every time we receive income my wife writes all of our tithe checks for the following two weeks. She does this before paying any other bills. This action covers the NATURE of first fruits. The first amount leaving our house is going to the Lord and His work. It is also the AMOUNT, in that it is a percentage of our income that belongs to the Lord. In our case, we “tithe” way above the 10% AMOUNT.

My parents tithed and gave offerings. I was trained in this practice from a very young age. My wife and I trained our children in this practice. And now, our grandchildren are being trained in this practice of investing in the kingdom of God. I can honestly say that none of us have ever gone lacking. God has been faithful to fulfill all of His promises to us.

This giving process is foundational to building wealth. Consider it. Do it. Watch and see how the Most High God moves on your behalf.

Wealth Building Through Relationships

Proverbs 13:20                                                                                                                     He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.

This scripture notifies us of how important our relationships are in life.  If we spend time with wise people we will increase in wisdom.  If we spend time with fools we not only become foolish, but we will also be destroyed.

Proverbs 12:26                                                                                                                   The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Proverbs 12:26 is a companion verse to 13:20.  We are taught to be wise in choosing the people with whom we will associate.  The way of the wicked will always lead us astray.

Our relationships are critical in wealth building.  We must trust God to lead us to, and connect us with the right people.  One divine connection, just one, can open a door to tremendous opportunities.  I believe this is a season in which the Lord of the Breakthrough is leading us into new and valuable partnerships.  We will find new, gifted, and interesting people coming into our lives.  Shake the fleshly tendency to be suspicious of new people, and learn to trust.  We have discernment working for us in the spiritual realm; but fleshly suspicion will absolutely sabotage what God is working in our lives.

WEALTH involves . . . the way we think, so be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

WEALTH involves . . . the condition of our hearts, so keep your heart with all diligence.

WEALTH involves . . . the properties we own, so go after the land God has already given to you.

WEALTH involves . . . innovation, creativity, and strategy, so receive the prophetic unction in your spirit, and your mind.

WEALTH involves . . . the relational connections we have, so choose wisely with prayerful consideration.  Remember that Jesus invested serious effort in prayer before He chose the twelve men who would walk with Him through three years of equipping.  Those twelve men were the ones Jesus eventually entrusted with His kingdom operation.

Wealth Building By the Word of God

Deuteronomy 4 is a section of scripture that places strong emphasis on hearing the Word of God.  Chapters 1-3 of Deuteronomy are an exposition on the sin and failure of Israel in the wilderness.  How would they move from their sin and wandering to entrance into the promised land?  The answer was found in listening to the Word of God.

Verse 1 is the encouragement to LISTEN or HEAR the Word of God, as the key to prosperous living, or doing well on the journey.

Verses 2-4 gives the key to survival in a toxic environment . . . LISTEN to the Word of God.

Verse 6 tells us that the Word of God and the presence of God will make God’s people attractive to others . . . a city set on a hill.

Verses 7,8 let us know that God speaks to us.

Verses 8-12 informs us that HEARING is the new SEEING.  If we want to SEE God’s glory we must LISTEN to God speaking; HEAR His Word.  Verse 12 say, “You heard the sound of words, but saw no form.”  Deuteronomy 5:4 tells us that the Lord talked with Israel face to face on the mountain from the midst of the fire.  5:23,24 refers to Israel hearing the voice from the midst of the darkness.  “Surely the Lord our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have HEARD His voice in the midst of the fire.  We have seen this day that God SPEAKS with man; yet he still lives.”

Verse 40 lets us know that HEARING and KEEPING the Word of God are the major keys of access to a long and good life in the land God gives to us.  The land is the created element that connects us with the presence of God.  The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.  And, He chooses to provide us with land; the part of creation that contains the gold, silver, and precious stones; the part of creation that we farm and build upon.

Deuteronomy 33:13-17 describes the prophetic blessing on Joseph.  The blessing is connected with the land.  The land provides what are called precious things, precious fruits, precious produce, and the best things.  The land is accessed by hearing and obeying the Word of God.

Wealth Building With Money, Riches, and Wealth

There are differences in terms when we talk about MONEY, RICHES, and WEALTH.

MONEY is a medium of exchange that has an assigned value.  It is part of the world system, and therefore it is subject to the influence of Mammon.  Mammon is the principality behind money that inspires people to fall in love with money.

I Timothy 6:10  The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.

RICHES are money that is over and above what is needed, or money that is earning interest by investment.  Riches are part of the world system, and therefore they are subject to the influence of Mammon.

Proverbs 23:5  Will you set your eyes on that which is not?  For riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

Matthew 13:22  The deceitfulness of riches.

Mark 10:24  How hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!

I Timothy 6:17  Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

WEALTH is what God owns because He created it (Psalm 24:1; Haggai 2:8).  It biblically includes land, gold, silver, precious jewels, and people.  In this category of wealth, land is a key component.  Gold, silver, and precious jewels are discovered in the land.  People live on the land.  Crops are planted on the land.  Livestock lives on the land.  Houses are built on the land.  So, it is essential for God’s people to obtain land.

Wealth Building by Obedience

So many Christians believe that we should only be interested in the spiritual side of life in Christ.  Their thinking is that our entire focus should be on devotion to God, receiving His grace, and growing in our spiritual walk with Him.  While all of these elements of the Christian life are very valid and true, there remains a natural side of living for God as well.

Psalm 115:16 tells us, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth He has given to the children of men.”  Notice that the earth has been given to us.  We are responsible for the management of planet earth, under the Lordship of Christ.  In order to properly and skillfully manage the earth, resources are required.  Answering the severe problems of this planet requires wealth building.  And, we want to build wealth in order to serve people, and release benefit to human life.

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 gives us the benefits of obeying the Word of God.

1 Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lordyour God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. 7 The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you. 9 The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways. 10 Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. 11 And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 And theLord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. 14 So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Take note that all of these benefits of obedience are manifested in the natural realm.  It is God’s will to bless us, not only spiritually, but also in the natural realm.  This is why we are experiencing the current emphasis on entrepreneurs, business leaders, political leaders, and financiers.  This is why leaders like Neil Isaacs are talking to us about building shopping malls and owning gold mines.  The Lord has already told us that the gold and the silver belong to Him.  Let us believe that this gracious God who loves us so much wants to bless us richly and abundantly.  He wants to resource us so that we are empowered to manage the earth.

Another Wealth Building Testimony

Here is another tremendous testimony from one of the people that participated in last week’s Wealth Building Conference.  Let your heart be encouraged to obey the Word of the Lord . . .

Attending the 2014 Wealth Building Conference proved to be such a blessing in more ways than one.  I knew I needed a totally different mindset concerning “wealth building”.   Also, that mentality of having “enough” or on occasion a little more than enough was accepted as normal in my life, but I felt it had to be broken.

Through the teachings and testimonies from Apostle Neil Isaacs my faith is increasing, and I am taking the limits off of God. It’s essential if I am to be a part of the expansion of the kingdom.

We were challenged to sow seeds during the conference.  I had written out a check for an amount suggested ($300.00) but did not give it during that particular offering because I was engaged in something else at that time.  The next day before the offering the speaker began releasing a number of things, and one was creativity.  This touched my heart deeply (in addition to other things) because that is what I would pray for; and I felt I had become slothful in creative ideas previously given to me by God.  I seemingly could not put the check in the basket fast enough.  Once I got in my car, all of a sudden the thought came, “Do you realize what you gave?  Maybe you should not have given that amount.”  As quick as it came, the thought left, and I calmed down.  When I arrived home, there was a check there for ME in the amount of $1,000.00 (3 times + the amount I had sown).  ONLY GOD!!!!  I knew without a doubt it was through obedience.  The sowing of that seed was for the purpose of “growth in the kingdom of God”.  Hallelujah!!!

Wealth Building Testimony

Some exciting testimonies are coming in as a result of the move of God that has been released through last week’s Wealth Building Conference.  Here is one of the exciting testimonies . . .

For  three months I have been feeling the place I work is no longer for me.  So, I started to look online for jobs; not apply, but just see what is out there.  I was fearful of leaving a place where I have worked for nearly eight years.  God then showed me I was in bondage, and  my superiors were Pharaoh, and it was time I be like the children of Israel and be free!  So, once I got that understanding and took my hands off,  everything began to fall in place.

A friend  called and told me a job was hiring.  I submitted my resume right to the recruiter.  Within a day I received a call back.  I did a phone interview and later on that week went on a face to face interview.  The next day the recruiter called to tell me I didn’t get that job.  But, the recruiter said she knew I am great for for the company.  So, she passed my resume to another manager for review.  During that time (March 6 ) I received  a piece of mail that i never opened.  I just stuck it in my dresser drawer and forgot about it.  Then the recruiter called back in two days and set me up for another interview, which was Friday, March 7.  On Monday, March 10 she called to make me an offer that would pay me nearly $10,000 a year more than where I have been for the last eight years.  Of course I accepted!

It was now the week Apostle Neil Issacs was set to come.  On Thursday March 13 he declared and decreed great things over the congregation.  He also told us to take a leap of faith and sow a seed of $200.00.  Well I looked at my husband and he gave me the nod.  No cash and no check, but we had our  debit card.  We sowed that seed.  Tuesday night (March 18) I began to clean my room and noticed the piece of mail I never opened.  I opened it to find a check for $3,044.06.  I was shaken.  My first thought was this is a mistake.  I went to tell my husband.  I said, “Look at this.  Something is not right.”  He said, “Just tell me.”  I told him the amount and his eyes got big and said, “Wow!”  Then I was on my computer trying to verify the check, and the internet went out.  As I got up to walk away, instantly God took me back to that Thursday night.  All I can do is shout, rejoice, praise, and worship God.  My faith is enlarged.  All I had to do was take my hands off, trust him, and have FAITH!

Can We Love God and Be Wealth Builders At the Same Time?

It is so good that we fervently love God, and that we have a passion about people being in love with God, and walking in His grace.  But, there is also a valid and righteous desire to make a profit, to reap the reward, to enter the inheritance, to enjoy tangible blessings in this life.  I don’t want us to lose sight of that.

When David, the lover of God, went to fight Goliath in I Samuel 17, he wanted to know what he was going to gain from winning that fight.

The first half of Deuteronomy 28 is full of the benefits involved in obeying the Word of God. All of those benefits are tangible, physical rewards to be enjoyed in this life.

II Corinthians 9:8 is a promise of “all things” for every good work in this life. That promise is connected with sowing bountifully in financial giving.

Matthew 6:33 is the promise Jesus gave us about expecting the basic necessities of life to be provided for us as we seek first the kingdom of God and God’s righteousness.  It’s kind of interesting that Jesus didn’t tell us to seek God Himself, but His kingdom, or governmental order and power, along with His righteousness.  Interesting.

Genesis 1:28 is the promise of dominion in this life . . . dominion by which we will steward the earth for the glory of God.

I just want us to keep a balanced and righteous perspective.  Otherwise it gets real easy to become judgmental of motives in other people.  The reality is that we cannot read someone’s heart motive.  Do they want God or God’s stuff?  I don’t know.  That’s between them and God.

The Mentality for Wealth Building

Last weekend at the Wealth Building Conference, we were using the term “mentality” or “mindset” to describe the development of kingdom-minded leaders for the marketplace.  We must develop a mentality for the building of wealth.  We also have the understanding that this wealth-building action is not only about business people getting rich.  It is about building wealth for the purpose of solving problems, transforming communities, and serving people in more effective ways.  If we learn to pursue purpose, money will run TO us.  If we are merely pursuing money, it will run FROM us.

Last Saturday Dan Johnson was giving instruction about developing the mindset of an entrepreneur.  Dan told us that a mindset is a mental attitude or inclination.  Spiritual warfare is involved.  The mind is the ground where the battle for enlargement and expansion takes place.  In 2 Corinthians 10 we are told to pull down the strongholds of the mind.  Any thought pattern that is wrapped in feelings or emotions, and is exalting itself against what we know to be the will of God, is a stronghold.  That stronghold must be pulled down in order for the will of God to be accomplished with freedom.

Dan taught us that an entrepreneur is a risk-bearer, living on the edge.  This type of leader is an organizer, coordinating various and diverse components.  An entrepreneur is an innovator, looking to make beneficial change.  An entrepreneur is also very much into leadership, always aiming at collaboration in every effort.

Dan gave us keen insight into our need to depend on God for everything.  Entrepreneurship can also be viewed as ENTRE – PRAY – NEW – ER – SHIP.  Prayer becomes the key of access to the new thing God is releasing.

This is the cutting edge model for leadership that God is raising to a high place of influence in this generation.
